NSL
NSL are the largest employer of Civil Enforcement Officers, Parking Attendants and Traffic Attendants in the UK, providing on-street parking enforcement for more than 60 local authorities.

We are the largest employer of Civil Enforcement Officers,
Parking Attendants and Traffic Attendants in the UK, and we provide
on-street parking enforcement for more than 60 local authorities,
so we know the challenges you face.
The effectiveness of enforcement strategies is largely down to
the performance of people, so we have developed a sophisticated
psychometric test that ensures we get the right people for
enforcement tasks. Our staff turnover is half that of the industry
average.
Uniquely, all our Civil Enforcement Officers are trained in
customer service, employing tact and empathy in their dealings
whilst still ensuring compliance with regulations.
This is further strengthened by work understanding conflict
management so that situations can be diffused. However when
conflict does arise we fully support our people, with technological
developments including DNA spit kits that enable assailants to be
identified from their saliva. Our aim is to empower our Civil
Enforcement Officers to do their jobs to the highest possible
standard in the safest possible way.
NSL technology has helped our clients enormously - for example,
our sophisticated ANPR systems helped identify some of the
thousands of untaxed vehicles in the UK and cut the number by over
40%. And our mobile CCTV solutions deliver cost-effective
enforcement around schools and bus lanes.
Our innovations extend beyond technology though. We have a
strong track record in human partnerships to improve enforcement.
For example, Partnership Plus is a groundbreaking service level
agreement between NSL and police forces nationwide.
As part of this scheme, Civil Enforcement Officers are trained
by police to report witnessed street crime more effectively and in
turn assist police with special operations such as Blue Badge fraud
or stolen vehicle cases. Police have also committed to investigate
all assaults or abusive behaviour against NSL enforcement
officers.
Our enforcement services are also backed up by old-fashioned
fieldwork: our fleet of DVLA enforcement vehicles covers over one
and a half million miles every year as part of our responsibility
for the clamping and removal of untaxed vehicles.
